As part of this mission, the Microsoft Advanced Skilling Internship Programme is giving unemployed youth the chance to earn technical certifications in Data Science and AI. This is more than just training—it’s about shaping the future of work in South Africa.
The 3 major components of this programme include; Recruitment, Training, Exams and Placement. Candidates must reside in the following areas: Limpopo, North West, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Free State.

Step 1: Sign-up
- Create a username (email address) and password
- Verify login details through email confirmation
- Complete aptitude & behavioral assessments
- Update profile:
- Add ID copy
- Proof of address
- Bank statement (Optional)
- Matric Certificate Copy
- Copy of Tertiary qualifications
Step 2: Shortlist

We review your profile to check if you meet all specified programme requirements

Candidates who meet our program requirements will be further shortlisted based on their supporting documents and assessment scores

If you do not meet the program requirements, your application will be automatically rejected

Note: Applications with incomplete documents or without the assessment will not be considered
Step 3: Feedback & Offer

- Pass our background checks
Step 4: Agreement

Successful candidates will receive an agreement via email

The receipt date will be considered as the date the agreement is sent to the candidate

Selected candidates will be required to sign and return the agreement within 2 days of receipt and no extensions shall be granted

Failure to sign and return the agreement within the specified 2-day period will result in automatic withdrawal of the offer
Requirements
- Ages between 18-35
- South African Citizen.
- Candidates must currently be unemployed.
- Must have a minimum of NQF Level 5 ICT qualification or related field
- Candidate must not be enrolled at any tertiary institution.
- Candidates must NOT be participating in another learnership, internship or funded skills programme.
- Must reside and be resident in the following provinces:
- Limpopo
- North West
- KwaZulu-Natal
- Eastern Cape
- Mpumalanga
- Free State or
- Gauteng.

Advanced Skills Internship Programme Duration

- Programme Start Date: 01 April 2025
- Duration: 12 Months
- Stipend: R5,000.00 (Subject to meeting Incentive criteria)

"Application Pending" indicates that your submitted application is currently under review. The recruitment team is assessing your qualifications and skills. "Application Shortlisted" signifies that your application has passed the initial screening process and has been selected to receive an Aptitude assessment. This is a positive indication that your qualifications align with the program requirements.
